About me

Here's a bit about me...

Hi, I’m Taylor!

I decided to make this blog, because there are so many prospective pre-medical students. I felt that I could reach out to high school students, college students, and other people who are interested in becoming a physician, PA, NP, RN, etc. or learning about medicine in general. During my undergraduate career at the University of Virginia, I decided I wanted to be a part of the medical field. While pursuing a career as a physician, my journey has led me to becoming an emergency room scribe, a medical assistant, and currently a research fellow.

What makes me a nontraditional student? Well, I transferred from a community college to a 4-year university and decided to take a couple of gap years before applying to medical school. A couple of years = 3 years (going on 4 years!) In this time, I have completed my pre-medical prerequisites, started studying for the MCAT, and received a Master of Science degree in Physiology.

In the end, I hope you enjoy my journey to the primary goal: the MD/DO promiseland. In the future, I would like to continue to share my insights of medicine as a medical student, and eventually, a practicing physician. The main purpose of this blog to encourage you to chase your dreams through my perspective of life as a premed student. As I say, it may take you a few stops along the way, but you will eventually reach your final destination. Oh, and remember, you got this!
