Puerto Rico.

I just wanted to make a quick statement to bring awareness to the damage Hurricane Maria has left behind in Puerto Rico. Please take a moment to consider helping the people of Puerto Rico as they are not receiving the assistance they need. Our own “President” compared the crisis to Katrina and stated it was not a “real” tragedy because their death toll was “only at 16.” After he made these absurd and disturbing comments, the death toll rose to 34. There are many people in need of food and supplies. A lot of families have lost their homes and have no place to stay. Throwing paper towels at these individuals as if they are animals is not helpful, but I digress. I am disappointed that Trump only went to Puerto Rico after being pressed by the media. He joked and did not seem to take the situation seriously. On the other hand, I am happy to see others lending a helping hand. If you would like to help, you can donate to Unidos por Puerto Rico (United for Puerto Rico), which was established by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló. However, there are also scammers who are looking steal personal information or easy money so please be careful as to whom you donate. Please recognize the extent of their need at the moment.
