Update: I’m a grad student!

Hey, everyone!

From the title you’re probably thinking, yes, you’re a grad student. We know, Taylor. Well, it just hit me. This week, I actually have orientation, and classes start this Monday. Wow, I’m a grad student. More like, wow, I’m a student. Again. This will be my third degree, if I decide to attain the Master’s degree at the end of my certificate program. I have been struggling to get back into the swing of studying. I started writing notes for biochemistry, which I have taken before… But I honestly didn’t learn anything. Maybe I will post about that later this year. Long story short — Don’t ever take biochemistry online. On the other hand, I am so excited to experience new courses and material. I love learning and cannot wait to see what this program has in store.

In other news, my roommate is awesome, and I’m happy to be experiencing new adventures with her. I hope to meet a lot of other amazing pre-health students and listen to their background stories. Non-traditional pre-med students usually have interesting, unique stories to tell. As I stated earlier, orientation is this week as well as challenge course activities with my fellow classmates. Hopefully, I don’t injure myself too badly. I am a major klutz.

Anyways, I will have the opportunity to meet other students later this week. I will update you next week on how everything goes!

Also, I have been trying to figure out what computer to invest in for school. I have heard SO MANY THINGS. I am leaning towards the 15 inch MacBook Pro, but I have heard great things about the 13 inch MacBook Pro, which evidently was recently updated. The Apple specialist told me the 15 inch won’t last as long as the 13 inch. Honestly, this has become more stressful than I expected. I want to invest in a laptop that will last me through medical school, but I also don’t want a smaller screen.

If you have any recommendations, PLEASE HELP ME! I have gone through 3 PCs and decided to try an Apple laptop this year. Most of my friends have Macs, and I realized they weren’t having the same issues. As a matter of fact, they weren’t having any issues at all. I guess we will see when I put it through the rigors of grad school.

Anyways… I am eager to begin classes and hit the books next week. As I have noted on my Instagram, I will not be able to post as often. I will try to post as much as I can, but my focus will be on school. I have more content coming soon, including a few guest posts from other individuals in medicine. Stay tuned!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Be sure to check out my other posts, including the one I did with Melissa on her blog, Futura Doctora. Head over to her page to learn about testing anxiety and 7 ways to handle it. I’m honored to be featured on her blog. It is one of my favorite to read. Check it out! There is more to come soon! Until then be kind and remember tomorrow depends on what you do today. Hope you enjoyed reading!
